Do you want to get more involved with your school community and find yourself bored at home with nothing to do? Going to watch spring sports games is a great way to cure boredom and get more involved at the same time. Even if you aren't a fan of some sports, there are so many to choose from. Baseball, lacrosse, tennis, track and field, softball, and badminton are all really exciting sports that you can watch at South!

In baseball, two teams of nine players compete to see which team can score the most runs while taking turns hitting and fielding. Lacrosse is an action-packed contact sport where two teams of ten compete to see who can put the ball into the opposing team's net the greatest number of times. Tennis is both an individual and team sport and can be played in one-vs-one or two-vs-two, where the players compete and try not to let the ball bounce too many times on their own side. Track and field is a combination of many different events put into one sport. There are sprints, hurdles, throwing, and jumping. Softball is just like baseball except the field is slightly smaller and the ball is slightly larger than in baseball. Badminton is sort of like tennis except the ball cannot bounce on the ground at all and the net is elevated off the ground. You can choose which sport interests you the most, then go watch it and support South's teams.

So far, South has been having a great season! The baseball team is doing amazing with a record of 5-3, and their next game is on Friday, 6/5/26. I hope you can find the time to support our teams here at South because the players work very hard practicing for their sports and would love to have more supporters at their games. For the full schedule of sports games, you can check out the school's website.

You can also try out to join fall sports such as football and soccer, just to name a few. If you are in high school and would like to try out for Varsity or JV sports, tryouts start one week before the school year starts. If you are in junior high, then the tryouts will be held when school starts next year.
