Under the Lights Men's Varsity Soccer Game

The Under the Lights men’s varsity soccer game is an annual event that takes place at Valley Stream South High School. The game is run by the district. The coach for Valley Stream South High School is Coach Peter Mastrota. This year’s annual game took place on October 8th, 2025, on the main field toward the back of the school. This game gives the seniors of South a chance to play for the last time and is a grand way of saying goodbye to this year’s graduating class of soccer players.

This year’s game was a close one. As Coach Mastrota said, South was dominating in the first half, ending it with a 2–0 lead. For the rest of the game, South put up a good fight, but in the end, they went through a devastating defeat of 4–2. Even though South lost, they knew they tried their best and took time to use teamwork during the match. Now, with the team’s seniors going off to college soon, the current juniors will be prepared for the next Lights Out game and will be sure to bring the Falcons home a victory in 2026.
