Did you know that there is a way to socialize, gain valuable skills, and look good for colleges that doesn’t involve physical activities like sports? Clubs! Clubs are a great way to do all those things, and there are many of them available at our school. No matter what you’re interested in, there is a club just right for you!

Clubs are places where students collaborate and do things that they’re interested in. Clubs can also help spark an interest and help students find out what they like and are good at. They can also help students meet new people and make new friends. Socializing with new people can be great for building self-confidence and decreasing social anxiety. In addition, colleges look for participation in extracurricular activities on applications, and clubs are great for this.

There are many different clubs, and you are bound to find one just right for you. Some of the most popular clubs include The Falcon Report, Cultural Society, Literary Magazine, and Class Council.

The Falcon Report is South High School’s weekly news reporting show, which is primarily produced, written, and directed by students. Cultural Society is an annual show that features traditional dances and acts from countries around the world. Literary Magazine is an annual magazine composed of poems, drawings, and pictures submitted and edited by students to showcase their talent. Class Council is your grade’s student committee that runs events and makes decisions for your class.

There are also other clubs for specific interests and skills, such as the Mock Trial Team for high schoolers interested in law and debating, Theatre for those interested in the arts, and E-Sports for those interested in gaming. If you are interested in joining a club, reach out to your guidance counselor for a full list and meet with the club advisor.
