In Mrs. Keany's AP Psychology class, the students and faculty have taken advantage of a new platform known as MagicSchool. MagicSchool is an extremely versatile and useful tool that allows students to break down information, memorize terms, and set up study guides and practice tests to help them in various subjects. Teachers are able to set up an online classroom within the AI and create these study tools, which help students become more eager to learn and more engaged in the subject at hand.

The AI can recite articles, condense and simplify complex pieces of information—such as the different parts of the brain, how it works, and what parts of the human body are affected by its functions. This tool can be used not only in Psychology, but also in History, where the AI can speak in the first-person perspective of famous historical figures such as Napoleon Bonaparte, Frederick Douglass, and Nikola Tesla. It can rap, talk about different topics in their lives, and help students understand their rationale behind their greatest achievements.

MagicSchool and AI have proven to be helpful in the classroom by engaging students in the material and allowing them to have a broader and more in-depth understanding of it. Yet, it’s important to remember that this is a tool to aid in learning and understanding material—not a tool for answers. AI is often abused and used to simply take information without actually learning from it, leading students to never fully grasp the material and to rely on it for answers without knowing how to get to them. AIs, such as MagicSchool, should be used responsibly and be carefully regulated by teachers to ensure students use it to learn and understand their material, rather than just take answers.
